Claudia Francesia is a young Italian artist who attended the Albertina Academy of Fine Arts in Turin and has a good amount of personal and collective exhibitions. His work is characterized by two fields of research: the poetic one, applied to the study of African cultures and the technical one based on the continuous and passionate experimentation of materials.

An artistic journey started with portraits painted with coffee on canvas or on paper supported by frames of collage of African fabric, called wax prints, in particular portraits painted with Touba coffee, using the typical spicy Senegalese coffee.The painted subjects are black, often drawn several times, bodies and portraits investigated in the depth of the skin and modeled through layers of color.
 

Over time, the African fabric has become the support and the subject itself of the work, on which the artist intervenes with oil painting, free in expressions and formats. Claudia create compositions of collage of fabrics, harmonized by painting and its sensitivity, surfaces of beats with warm and vibrant colors, energy and authenticity.
